Enhancing Oil and Gas Education at TTU with Advanced Software Suite

The Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has received a generous donation of a comprehensive software suite from PE Limited (PETEX) to enhance oil and gas education. This software suite includes robust reservoir simulation capabilities aimed at supporting various aspects of petroleum production, such as reservoir management, well-completion intervention, and production optimization.

The launch of this software suite was celebrated at a ceremony attended by TTU’s Vice Chancellor, Rev Prof John Frank Eshun, who highlighted the importance of the oil and gas sector in driving economic development. He emphasized TTU’s commitment to equipping students with cutting-edge tools and knowledge necessary for success in the industry.

Prof John Bentil, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at TTU, praised the technological advancements brought by the software suite and acknowledged the transformative impact it will have on technical and vocational education. Dr Joseph Sekyi Ansah, Head of the Department of Oil and Natural Gas Engineering at TTU, expressed gratitude to PETEX for their visionary support and highlighted the hands-on experience students will gain with industry-standard tools.

Industry leaders, including representatives from Baker Hughes and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), commended TTU for acquiring the software suite and preparing the next generation of oil and gas professionals. They emphasized the software’s role in enhancing educational outcomes and fostering collaboration with industry stakeholders.

The donation of the Petroleum Engineering Software Suite to TTU marks a significant step towards bridging the gap between academic learning and industry application, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to tackle the evolving challenges of the oil and gas sector.
