Billy Ray Cyrus Accuses Estranged Wife of Unauthorized Credit Card Charges Totaling Nearly $97,000
The drama continues for Billy Ray Cyrus and his estranged wife, Firerose, as Cyrus accuses her of charging his credit card nearly $100,000 without authorization. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Firerose allegedly made 37 unauthorized charges totaling $96,986.05 between May and June 2024 using Cyrus’ business American Express card.
In response, Cyrus has filed for a temporary restraining order against Firerose, seeking repayment of the entire amount. Firerose, on the other hand, claims she had permission to use the card since they moved in together in 2022 and argues that she stayed within the designated credit limits. She also stated that a portion of the charges was mistakenly made by a law firm and has since been refunded.
The situation escalated further as Cyrus quietly filed for divorce on May 22, 2024, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct. He also requested an annulment on the grounds of fraud. Despite their short-lived marriage, the couple had released several collaborative tracks and shared a joint Instagram post celebrating their union.
As the legal battle unfolds, Cyrus has given Firerose a deadline to leave their marital home and is providing financial support until the divorce is finalized. This marks Cyrus’ third marriage and eventual divorce, following previous relationships with Cindy Smith and Tish Cyrus.
