Smart Data Show at Open Banking Expo UK and Europe 2024: Key Speakers and Agenda Highlights

The inaugural Smart Data Show is set to take place on 15-16 October in London, bringing together speakers from the Department for Business and Trade, the House of Lords, and major banks such as NatWest, HSBC, and Deutsche Bank. This event is part of the Open Banking Expo UK and Europe 2024, reflecting the growing importance of smart data in the ecosystem.

The event will feature a keynote address by Lord Chris Holmes of Richmond MBE, outlining the vision for a Smart Data economy. Other sessions will cover topics such as the Financial Data Access framework, Open Insurance, and Open Data-enabled product innovation.

Stuart Coleman from the Open Data Institute will discuss the importance of data sharing and the UK’s Smart Data policy agenda, while a Fireside Chat between industry experts will explore how Smart Data can be advanced in various sectors.

Visitors can also expect to hear from Agnieszka Scott from the Department for Business and Trade, Tamian Godfrey from NatWest, and Gavin Starks from Icebreaker One. The agenda includes a brainstorm session on Open Data-enabled product innovation with speakers from Deutsche Bank, HSBC, and UK Finance.

Kelly Stanley, co-founder of Open Banking Expo, emphasized the significance of the Smart Data Show in light of the UK government’s commitment to a Smart Data Bill. The event aims to explore the opportunities and challenges in implementing Smart Data for the benefit of the UK economy.
